It was so refreshing to have a sense of normalcy during May's First Friday. Artspace had an amazing turn out, while still allowing plenty of personal space. We have some new artists this month, and we are movin' and groovin'.
I love the variety of artists we have at our location. One person I feel is becoming an essential artist is Alexandre Emmanuel (studio 219). He not only is talented at pallet knife paintings, thick with expressive mark-making; he is also charismatic and kind. One of my favorite faces to see. His range of subject matter seems endless, and he represents a voice for muted members of our society.
I have added some sneak peaks to the new paintings he is premiering for his LGBTQ collection. It's perfect for Pride Month. If you cannot make it for First Friday, Alexandre seems to always be working. The link to his website is included in case you would like to contact him directly.
We hope to see you soon!
